Last weekend was the annual auction for the science center. I worked some long hours to get the local fairgrounds set up for the event, helped run the event and clean up. I'm feel like I'm still recouperating. All the hard work of our volunteers and staff, and the community support ended up raising around $80,000 for the science center - quite a success and a record. Although events can be stressful, I felt in my element and was happy to work more intensely with volunteers I've known for a while and also get to know new volunteers. Jess and Julia even came up to volunteer and Julia stayed for a few days. It was great to have my buddies around and to see everyone cleaned up and dressed up! Daylight savings was the next day though and no rest for the weary. I got a day of hanging out with Julia before she left. Now on to starting core curricula at the science center for local schools this spring - deep breath!
