Clopper Mill

I spent a solid 9 months scheming how I was going to make it to the ruins of a mill that I often talked to the public about. It's easily visible from the road down a bank, over a stream, briar's everywhere, you get the picture. But in the winter...a little easier to access. On one cold, rainy morning, I reported to Seneca to lead a hike. It happened to be Ranger Erik's 50th birthday. He decided he'd join as did my faithful friend and volunteer Bonnie. No one showed, change of plans, and they both indulged my dreams of visiting the ruins. Erik and Bonnie would be the best people to do this with since A. Erik is a history nut and knows more about mills than anyone I know and B. Bonnie is up for anything and an adventurer. So off we went! What fun! Great day and company!

And...good thing it's not easily accessible, otherwise it probably wouldn't still be standing or in as good of condition as it is.

Grist stone for grinding grain probably from France
