Yeeee haw!!

Heather and I bundle up!
Brave drivers go down the 19th St. hill

Snowy PT way down the hill next to the water and scenic snowcapped Baker in the backgrd

Saddle up! It's time for winter. I woke this morning and walked out of the bedroom still mezmerized by my night slumber, bed head and underpants - YowZA! The white stuff was falling down from the sky and hard! WHATTTTT?! I thought PT didn't get snow. IS THIS REAL LIFE?????

Today we got 6 inches...today...in one day. I thought I left the east coast winters behind? We got more snow today than the cumulative snowfall in PT last winter. When I asked the gals how much they got last year they said, "dustings." Looks like the DC Snowmaggedon followed me here. The weather cancelled my lunch date and afternoon errands and looks like this could be the case tomorrow too. While you al know 6 inches isn't really enough to scare me, the hilly town I live in and the fact that they don't get this kind of precip here and there aren't snow plows and de-icing equipment to deal with all this...I think I'll stay out of the way of inexperienced drivers. Me and the gals had planned to have a mini Thanksgiving tonight and decided the show must go on. So I bundled up and treked about 40min to dine on some treats. It was definitely worth the trip but on the way, I decided, "why not take a shortcut?" So I went through the golf course and got my boots all full of snow but it was entertaining.

When earlier in the day I walked outside for the first time, the first thing that struck me was...while in DC when it'd snow not only would the white snow make a dirty city beautiful, but the streets would become peaceful, blanketed in cleanliness and the quiet of the snow covering everything. Here, there isn't quite such a contrast. I paused to hear that quiet that a snow leaves but I didn't notice anything; I think this was mostly the case because it's always that quiet here and the snow made it quite pretty but because it's already quite a lovely little place, that wasn't that dramatic either. I've been singing the winter blues lately but this did just the trick to help me reclaim my love of PT - thank you snow! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAHiFCuKpus
