Wooden Boat Festival

Two weeks ago the annual Wooden Boat Festival came to town. David's boat was in it and I'd spent some time helping sand and paint his boat Sea Cloud, in the months prior. I was more involved this year than ever before with the festival. I was skeptical of the festival being fun, thinking it'd be a little out of control and too many people for me. But I was happily proven wrong. It ended up being the most fun I'd had in months. Walking around to check out all the boats, meeting David's friends and hanging out aboard Sea Cloud in the sun was relaxing and fun, what I'd been needing. The weather was phenomenal, and I wore shorts and skirts the entire time.

I even got an opportunity to sail on a sloop for the first time. Below you'll see photos I took from that sail. This was my best sailing experience ever - the sun on our faces, the wind blowing our hair and I was with 3 experienced sailors so I could sit back and enjoy the show. We weaved in between boats and raced along, challenging boats twice our size. See pictures below!
