Near to Dom's house are a few trails in the woods. I use the word "woods" loosely. What I mean by that are woods surrounded in all directions by large housing developments. You can't get in the woods deep enough that you can't either see a house or hear people/cars...but I guess you just have to take what you can get? The upside...no big deal walking alone. The trail I decided to venture on was a trail covered with trillium over 20 years ago...in came the deer who decimated that population. After closing it off now for over 10 years, the trillium have returned. I visited when there weren't any in bloom, however, if I remember correctly, there are some that begin blooming in February-June...so I'll have to go back to investigate in a month to see if that's truthful.
