Jr Rangers - Session 1.3

A day of stress when my assistant comes in the morning and tells me that they've got to leave for an appointment in the middle of the morning for a few hours. Big wrench thrown into plans. Rearranging of the entire day which was already stressing me out with very hot, humid weather, trying to fathom 20 of these kids hiking 3 miles; I was irritated. I spent much of the day using the emergency/filler games and activities and spent the larger part of a day at a pavilion with the kids which was a shorter hike in and back to. One of my coworker's brothers stopped by with his K-9 search and rescue dog to do a demo and talk to the kids. He was my hero that day as this was 45min where I didn't have to do anything but watch and take a breath. I surprised myself with my ability to adapt, think on my toes and the kids didn't even know the day had been adjusted. They all had fun and everyone was safe. Challenge met and overcome!
