After a few days of showing Ken around my parts, we roadtripped it up to
Vancouver, British Columbia. He'd been years and years ago; this was my
first visit. The weather was phenomenal and Ken decided we should stay
right outside the city, two blocks from the subway and in a nice hotel.
Good idea. The subway was super easy to use and over the course of 3.5
days, we took in the sights. The first day we roamed around the city,
taking in the snow-capped mountains, very big, the warm air and culture.
Vancouver seems to be quite the international city and I heard many
many different languages in the small time spent there. We'd been told
by a few people some must see's and we mostly took their advice with
Granville Island being the first major stop. It's comparable to Pike's
Place Market in Seattle - all sorts of different food and craft vendors,
but not nearly as big, but on a little island on the water. Very
pleasant. Stay tuned to the rest of the trip!
