Pet sitter extraordinaire

Since relinquishing my position as Volunteer Coordinator, I imagine some of you wonder what I've been doing...I have been very busy indeed! I have continued part time at the science Center about 15 hours/week doing education program scheduling and working toward two 3 day programs in late March which I will do all the logistics for and also teach for. In the meantime, I sure have been on pet sitting duty.
Chuey, you are so cute!

I started off the New Year watching Chuey, a 15 year old Shitzhu. He may now be my most favorite doggie. Then I was simultaneously watching Nellie and Max, two mischievous kitties, Nellie is a calico, and Max is gigantic domestic kittie. If stretched out from tip to tip of his paws, I bet he'd measure 3 feet! I'll measure next time, as I'll go back two more times the next month to watch them while their mommy goes away.

Max and Nellie brought me a present, poor birdie. See their butts in the background?

Then there is Sam (Sammie). He is a 10-12 year old, not sure since he was a shelter dog, Newfoundland mix. He's huge and getting quite old. I watched him when I first moved into town. He has a lot of character and despite his age, can still rally. But unfortunately, he's mostly deaf, so sometimes watching him can be quite the challenge. I usually watch him for 3 week stretches and stay at his house - his mom and dad have grandchildren in Shanghai so they try to go visit over there two times/year and it just doesn't make sense to make that journey for staying less than 3 weeks.

I have started watching a new dog, PT, a beautiful red Golden Retriever. He's a great dog, loads of energy and very sweet, but I forgot to take a photo of him. Next time...

I will have a pet sitting break coming up here until the 25th of February, so I'll go back to my "winter" cottage/house. I plan to bike/walk more since my possessions, including bike gear, will all be in one location. I hope to spend some time investigating future options more seriously, as well as amping up my gym time and start calorie counting. I've been doing a lot of knitting also which all detail in another posting.
