The next morning we woke to a beautiful sunrise and dry gear! The previous nights storm wind had blown everything dry. We took our time setting up camp and watched all sorts of hikers pass both north and south bound. We crossed paths with many hikers this day. We went 12.5 miles to hit Blackrock Gap shelter which was down in a gully. We pitched our tent in one of the designated sites and took to reading the hut's journal. Each hut had a journal where hikers logged random information. I was a bit nervous about reading how last summer there were many bear's in this area. It was a quiet evening with no one else in the area until late around 9:30pm, when I woke to hear voices. The next morning we saw the two Southbound hikers headed out. One with a regular backpack (think for school) with all sort of gear just tied on. It was pretty interesting.
