AT review
My hike on the Appalachian Trail went well, as well as I could ever have expected. Heather and I got along like peas and carrots and figured out everything together. All the gear held up and we had enough food and access to water. The only downside was that the weather was unseasonably colder than we anticipated. We spent many mornings wearing all our gear (rain gear included) until we warmed up on the trail going up hill. The upside of cooler weather was we were able to get great views since leaves hadn't come in yet, no snakes, no bugs, no sunburn, no dehydration. After a few days I realized I didn't really want to continue without Heather on the trail, and if I did continue, I'd do it alone. All in all, we backpacked 6 nights, and for around 6.5 days, and a total of around 72 miles. I'll detail each day following this post with photos taken. Enjoy!
