I'd kept my restaurant general manager informed of all my plans for many months and after not getting the job, there was an opportunity to go to Florida while my grandma and aunt were there as well as Dom and his family and many other things. Then I found roundtrip tickets for $93. Booked!
Dom and I went to a sandcastle contest, this was the best one, it had rained the previous day so some of them were messed up, waste of money.
But we saw pretty birds in the lake that formed on the beach from the rain.
Then we drove to Hollywood, FL and picked up one of Dom's friends (Betsy - the blonde) and her friend Katie, and we kept driving. The whole way to Key West.
Key West was really touristy, I wasn't impressed, but then I asked to walk off the main street and it was more like what I'd envisioned on HGTV...pretty little cottages, quieter streets, Spanish moss.
Then we found our campsite and caught the sunset per Dom's request. Just in time!
