I've fallen into a groove by now and this past week we had some special events in the park. The main event was a Native American tribal canoe journey that made a stop at the park. I'd guess there were 30+ boats that were paddled into and docked right off the pier of the Marine Science Center. It was pretty neat seeing them paddle in, although made for a busy day.
This month is the start of a busy month were marine mammal strandings are quite common and I got to see my first today - a seal pup. Often the mothers leave their pups on the beach when they go hunting for food and we have to go surround them with tape and a sign so that the public leave the seal alone. The mother will come back once she is done hunting to get the pup so although it was really sad to see the poor thing there, it's reassuring to know that mom will be back soon.

Whew, I am so glad to hear that the moms come back! ... I'm enjoying keeping up with you through your blog and I'm learning a few things along the way as well. ... Sending you a hug from Maryland!
