Croquet, squid and river otters

A week ago one of our dear volunteers Roger had me and the gals over for dinner and some croquet. I discovered that like mini golf, i'm pretty terrible at croquet, mostly because i hit the ball way too hard. This is why I enjoy driving golf balls so much more. However, after 20 minutes, I hit my stride and ended up 2nd. We were just playing around but it was really fun to do something different like this since I haven't played since Livi and I were little in the yard in Carlisle.

On a side note, it's been a week packed with wildlife action for me. Besides seeing the orca, we had a shellfish farmer bring us a dead Humboldt squid. I'd never seen a squid so large in my life and my coworker dissected it right outside the science center. Then there is a river otter family that comes to the dock outside the science center but not until this past week did I see the babies. So cute! They rolled around for hours and played and then the mom went fishing and left the babies to sun themselves. I took a video also which I'll upload eventually :) Just another day in Port Townsend - pretty awesome huh?
