After a busy spring, so far, I'd been feeling pretty ragged and in need of some TLC. A trip to visit grandma was just what the doctor ordered. I planned it in the midst of the PNW winter in early March and it felt like an eternity but at last, a quick flight into Pennsylvania, and I reached my vacation. Good German food, yard saling, movies, a visit with Allie and the kids, a great walk with Jane, a visit with mom and finally meeting my sister's boyfriend --- plus good weather to boot. It was nice to wear pants and t-shirt and feel comfortable.
I then rode down to DC with Liv and visited with my NACACers, more sister time, walking in the warm city, happy hour with some Pam & Cody and time with Jason --- it was grand, I made sure not to overplan like last time. I truly felt taken care of and was so happy that everyone was able to spend some quality time with me. I realized that going back required at least a week, unlike my 4-5 day trip last time --- that was just exhausting. I'm glad that I made it before the heat and humidity of the east coast summer has set in as well and that I went before who knows where I'll be this summer. It's more likely that I'll have to move to find work so it's great to have fit in a visit before any moving madness and no time off.
I was welcomed back to the PNW after a 13+ hour trip to rain, rain and more rain for the first 3 days. Today, Mother's Day, is finally sunny which is great since I'll be getting out and about a little later this afternoon. Fingers crossed for finding a job and continuing on the western adventure!
P.S. Happy Mother's Day!
