It's been back to reality and a whirlwind the past few weeks since I return from the east - 2 already which is really hard to believe. I took an afternoon and traveled to Port Gamble, a little idyllic town about 30min away. There was an outdoor festival there but the main highlight to me was their General Store which had a shell museum. The museum was not only free but had shells from all over the world - super cool and I was able to ID a lot but learned a great deal. This town was also the setting for a zombie movie which actually makes sense since everytime I drive through there is no one anywhere and the lawns are completely manicured - just seems odd. My friend Julia's birthday happened and Heather made her a neato octopus shaped cake. Lastly, one morning around 8:30am as I was doing a bit of work I heard what I thought was a band and sure enough...within 5 minutes a full on middle school marching band went right in front of my house. At 8:30 in the morning - not on a holiday or anything. I've got to say that was pretty bizarre. I've got many other things to post but I'll do another one tomorrow and then another this weekend to catch up. Here's the marching band video:
