I'm entering 2012 - a year which in June will put me at two years in Washington and at 30 years of age, wow! Time sure
flies. My former coworker, roommate, and friend, Valerie came into town to visit. New Year's was me, her and Heather hanging out with snacks and tv, nothing fancy and I was in bed by 11:30pm. I haven't make
any distinct New Year's resolutions, but I plan to continue
accomplishing career goals, and exploring places on the Olympic Peninsula
to-do list I created when I got re-hired at the science center. I've already begun to whiddle away at that list.
On New Year's Eve Day, I hiked around a lake not far
from town with Heather, unfortunately, hiking here in the winter is not quite as accessible. Many roads are shut off, require snow chains, or snow shoes! No more just out for jaunts in the woods until summer. But this little lake hike was quite pretty and unexpected, a good leg stretcher at 2.5 miles.
On New Year's Day, I went to a nice brunch to welcome
in 2012. I included a picture of the trailer below, all by it's lonesome in "volunteer village." When I moved back in earlier in November, I was surrounded by two huge RV's, one with parrots that squawked. On New Year's Day, both vacated so it's my own village now! I'll write more New Year's stuff later, gotta go to
knitting club for some stichin n' bitchin!

Can't say I'm familiar with the term " stichin n' bitchin". I wonder if it's on Urban Dictionary. Happy 2012, Claudie!!!
