So far in 2012, each week seems to have presented a new set of challenges. Life keeps pushing, but so far, I'm surviving. I've had quite a bit of stress over the past few months transitioning back into full time work and into my actual job, having staff changes at work, transitioning into the trailer life, and battling different health ailments. Things have calmed down a bit but I know there is more to come in the next few months and I'm really looking forward to a time when life's a bit more stable and I'm in a groove. In the meantime, day by dayyyyyyyyyyyyy.
We've had some rough winter weather lately, what w/ the snow, but really I think the most extreme is our winds. It's been very windy lately, but thank goodness I haven't been in the trailer. If you look at a map of PT, it's pretty far inland from the Pacific Ocean, however, the sound can get quite rough here with the currents coming in from the straits (west to east) and then the flow of water moving north to south. Man, oh man, it's been very windy and very rough this January.

Throughout the stress, I've been so lucky to have great friends and family to support me and listen to my whoas. Oh yeah and the reason for the title...unfortunately my stress sometimes exhibits itself by constant eating of sweets, or seeking them out...and so the scale has been my enemy. Hopefully I'll get back to that exercise routine this week.
Good old mom sent me a care package with some goodies and gear for outdoor life (gaiters!) to keep my mind off of stressors! I'll do a post tomorrow about using the gaiters for the first time! Perhaps I'll get some ideas for the future in those Backpacker magazines :)
