Last weekend I headed to lower elevation hiking in the woods south of here. An area close to the naval base in Bremerton, so we were surrounded by families, mountain bikers and other outdoors people as we hiked Green Mountain. The day was pretty, we had a good view of Seattle and the Olympics, but I have a greater appreciation for hiking in the Olympics after this experience - the solitude, the more interrupted patches of wilderness, the lush forests, this felt like hiking in the city. All and all though, good to be on the trails again, and not getting wet feet from snow!
