Time well spent w/ Dom

Off and away for 4 days to Pittsburgh - the trip unfortunately meant that I was going to be experiencing the worst weather, well maybe not worst, but terrible weather on the eastern seaboard. Temperatures were in mid to high 90s and with the humidity combined, I bet the heat index was easily in the 100s. While I was recovering from jet lag, Dom and I spent our first full day together at his friend Lee's pool. I felt pretty snuffy and was probably experiencing some allergies, so laying at the pool, reading and soaking, was probably the best option for that day. We also ran for 5 miles in the heat at 10am - nothing like helping a friend get back into shape! :) One of the surprises of the trip was the new dog Dom and Lauren had since March, Livi. She is a maltese like their old dog but 2 lbs lighter...as if the other dog wasn't light enough, Iza had weighed in at 5 bls...Livi is 3. She fits perfectly in the crook of your arm and has as much personality and spunk as dog's 10X as big as her. It was a delight to see her run around, play and to hold her - and it was great to see the joy in Dom's face as he watched her.

I had told Dom right away, two must's while being on the east coast - Italian food and soft serve. While you can find these on the west coast, it doesn't compare and there isn't as much selection. I was in heaven and Dom treated me several times to meals out, Rita's Italian Ice and soft serve - got to beat the heat somehow! My pants have definitely been snug since my return.
