the 'burgh

I forgot to look at my end mileage, so I can't tell you the exact, but it's somewhere around...3600 miles, with a total of 10.5 day on the road. I arrived safely to the house below. My friend Dominic, who I met at Penn State, is born and raised in Pittsburgh. He is the owner of this house which is in Aspinwall, a borough of Pittsburgh. He's put a lot of work into the house and it's beautiful, very spacious and comfortable. In true Dom spirit, he had little treats and a plant waiting for me in my new room, and has been like a caretaker/dad to me. No wake up's that night, no screaming kids, fighting couples, or roots to roll over.

Many of you have asked, so how was the whole trip? All in all, the roadtrip was good...with many tough times. I saw some amazing places and animals, all in one trip. Going to multiple national parks was a dream. I did it better than past solo trips in that I was less anxious and more confident, believe it or not. However it was an emotional challenge. I am still struggling to transition, feeling homesick for Port Townsend, feeling a bit misplaced, anxious, lazy with not having found a job yet. No beaches, mountains, or lush mossy forests to explore. I'm making my way at finding temporary work as that'll help me feel more grounded and distract my mind from negative thoughts, and allow me to be more present and have made a list of places to go and things to see in this area and the larger New England area. Dom has a very busy life and includes me in most things --- so far this means very little downtime.
