Getting to know Frederick and seeing friends

On top of getting acquainted with living together again, in a new town, and setting up house, we intermingled that with holiday visits and after a few weeks of living here, finally ventured down the path behind our house to the huge Baker Park. It was exciting to know that this park was so close, good to walk in, play tennis, go to shows in the summer at the amphitheatre, swim (two public pools), ride bikes, explore, and only minutes away.

Another huge benefit of Frederick over Pittsburgh is that I'm closer to many people thus able to make visits more readily. This was evidenced by a day trip to see my BF from growing up, Allie and her kids in York then going right over to Hanover to see my girlfriend in from Denver at her parents house.

I'll be able to see Dom's aunt who is a 1/2 hour away, as is Jason's parents, Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Helga will only be a bit over an hour away, I still have a few friends from DC around who are all within an hour's drive, PSU roommates (2) within 45 minutes, Dom's brother and sister in law just 2.25 hours away in Delaware, Atlantic Ocean within 3 hours. Plus, I'm still on the same coast as Heather and other friends so plane rides are easier having several airports nearby, plus public transit like buses and trains. Much easier area to travel around and make day trips. Huge plus. Well, without further ado...

Our first time together in Baker Park (Jason recalls having been here many years ago)
