Last Friday at 2pm the Blizzard started. For once before a snowstorm, I went out and bought candles, matches, water and as shovel as I checked the weather channels forecasts getting worse and worse. I began taking photos after about an hour and tried to keep it up but then it was bedtime.
In the morning there was probably over a foot and it was still raging. I went out mid morning and shoveled, but didn't stay out long as I was concerned of a power outage and wanted to keep warm in the house. I didn't have to use the candles and water as thankfully the power never went out.
The snow continued all day Saturday and into the night. When I woke on Sunday it was sunny and beautiful. The total accumulation for the city of Frederick was 35inches, give or take an inch. The shoveling I'd done the day before basically looked like it'd never been done, so I set at it. Shoveling a path in front of our house and around the corner, probably totaling a city block. I then strapped on my snow shoes for a walk, see next post for those pictures.
