Yoga schmoga

Through the wonders of some awesome teachers, letting go of fears and misconceptions, and diligence - I've learned all sorts of awesome yoga things - what my body can do, how I can hold my body weight and be upside-down, gain confidence to do inversions, pay attention to my posture, think more consciously about breathing, learning a lot about yoga practices, Sanskrit words, new music, and also making some friends.
Do you see me??? I'm the in the first photo on the left w/ the bandanna on. One of the select few times in life when I saw my body and thought I looked good. I'm in the 2nd photo from the left too; hard to see, but pretty cool!
Enter Danielle and Sam! My fearless Monday and Wednesday Rock your Asana yoga teachers. They have lead me through Power Flow classes with upbeat music, indie rock/hip hop type tunes to keep us all moving and striving for one movement/breath - not easy! I can't keep track of the number of times I ended class dripping with sweat!

Truly "rockin" it: Sam (bottom), me (middle), Danielle (top) - a true Claudie sandwich
I remember a time in life when I thought yoga wasn't "aerobic" enough for me and never thought I'd get my heart beat pumping. Ah contraire! It's been a confidence builder that I've made quite a bit of progress in less than a year. Unfortunately, the teachers will probably be changing locations, and in effect the amt they charge - and one has a baby that often means she can't make class...so I'm not sure how much longer it'll last :(  Regardless of what happens, what a positive experience it's been for me and I think it'll end up being another "forever" sport to add on to my swimming.
