When in Rome, err, Everglades, there is the airboat riding. I'd never been and decided, at least once to see what it's all about and know what I'm talking about. It's expensive and loud, hence probably terrible for the Everglades, but it was fun. They let us hold a baby alligator beforehand and then we got a private tour since no one else showed up. The captain of the boat fed an alligator named Bucket Head marshmellows, which is apparently completely illegal but at the time, I was okay with it as the alligator was swimming right next to our stationary boat. Bucket Head was estimated to be 80 years old and gigantic. We saw another large gator and birds galore. Airboat video:
