I summited not one, but two mountains last weekend, Mt. Walker and Mt. Zion. Both had been on my to do list for some time and the snow is now low enough that these both made for terrific hikes. Mt. Zion was the perfect hike, good elevation gain, getting our hearts pumping (Jess and myself) and then at the top we had some nice views. Mt. Walker was the next day but the elevation gain at 2,000 ft within 2 miles was relentless. Chris and I kept each other entertained with jokes and quips and singing. The top there was stunning and we had a completely treeless view. Only problem was, neither camera battery would work! We ended up walking down the road that lead to the top for a change of scenery. It was quick gravel-y and I ended up getting huge deep blisters from wearing my chacos down this hill. Lesson learned. We did see some sweetness views of Seattle and that was awesome, first time I've been able to see the entire Puget Sound, PT, Hood Canal and all! Two wonderful hikes with two great friends! Phenomenal weather at around mid to high 70s both days and sunny skies. This is why I'm here!
