Day 3 - Calvert Cliffs and leaving Southern MD

The weather was fantastic for my entire trip. My last day I had a slow morning and sat on the porch and read and wrote. I said goodbye to Nancy and the neighbor, packed up and pulled away. I stopped at another state park called Calvert Cliffs. It's on the Chesapeake Bay side of Southern MD. An almost two mile walk in the woods to get to the beach where you can find shark's teeth. I didn't have any equipment though and so after a few minutes searching I found some fossils, but no teeth. Next time. I sat and watched the water and birds and people around me. Soaked in the sun and listened to the surf. The walk in and of itself was very pretty. On my walk back I met some park staff out for a program. Then I got in my car for the two hour or so drive home, oh bummer, so sad to leave. But so thankful to have had this adventure.

Walking to the beach

there was swamp/bog/wetlands, hard to say which
